Fieldstones are the larger, courser pieces of rock that are harvested from rock outcroppings in the hill country of Tennessee. They are used primarily in the building of walls and sometimes for water features.
Flagstones are the thinner, flatter pieces that are used in the construction of walkways and patios as well as veneer on house foundations, mailboxes, etc.
River rocks and river slicks are the more rounded or oblong rocks that are generally found in riverbeds and creekbeds that have been smoothed over the years by the flowing water. These are used primarily as edgers or in water features. They range in size from small baseball size to large football size.
