Paeonia 'Buckeye Belle'

Semidouble, dark maroon. Large outer petals, narrow center petals. Early. Fragrant. Double herbaceous cultivar. Spacing: 2–4 ft.

Large very fragrant flowers on strong stems held above handsome leathery foliage. Deer resistant. Herbaceous peonies prefer rich, well drained soil. Divide in late August taking care not to plant the growing eyes on the tuberous roots too deeply, preferably within 1" of the surface. An extremely long-lived plant and staple of the herbaceous border. May require staking. Peonies bloom from late spring to early summer and are categorized as early, mid season, or late.
